Chris Leroux Back in Victory Lane for first time in 2008

June 7, 2008
Redline Raceway, Granville PA
- In 2007 Chris Leroux and the Money Management LTD
Chevrolet has to settle for second behind Terry Povoski, but never gave up.
With the 32 winning his heat race, the redraw left him with the outside pole and that’s all he
would need to set sail for the Signs Plus of Kanona Victory Lane.
Memorial Day winner Ralph Champion Jr led the field to the green flag, and it looked to be
another Leroux / Champion battle, but a broken trailing arm on the #27 Champion Scrap
Metals Chevrolet would sideline Ralph just a few laps into the main event. Doug Buckley in
the # 2 Teed Chassis would inherit the runner up spot, and came back strong this week
after engine trouble in the last race. Doug would hold the 2nd spot the rest of the race and
throw everything he had at Leroux.
Rookie Jamie Freeman in the Muffler Shop Plus #8 Chevy, had probably the hardest
charge of the night, poor brakes in the heat race left him starting 8th but he was able to
keep it going and survive to come home 3rd, Even after climbing the back stretch wall, and
boy did he climb it. The fans voted and awarded Jamie with the Precision Move of the
Race Award, a $50.00 bonus for being the hard charger and the aerial display, and still
landing a top 3.
Now, here’s a Name we have heard before, Tim Povoski. Tim Piloted the PBR ( Povoski
Brothers Racing) #44 a few years back at Black Rock Speedway, but this season is
sporting his all new #2P Learn Motor Company Dodge. Tim has put a lot of time and effort
into building this Truck, and it shows, The white and blue paint scheme stands out and if you
get a chance, you really need to see this truck up close and personal. Tim came home 4th
this week, finishing on 7 cylinders, but none the less, giving it his all to finish. Mike Warren
and Tim had a great battle going until a coil wire that came loose on the #5 Finger Lakes
HVAC Mopar powered Dodge Ram with less than 5 laps remaining.
Another good finish for Rookie of the Year contender Christian Thompson, The #3 Teed
chassis entry may have been out of the race before it started, but some quick work by Bob
Teed and a little help of the guys and gals at Burgess Family Racing were able to help get
him up and running to make the main event. Its that kind of Dedication these teams have
that they are willing to help out each other like one big family in the pits, As bad as they all
want to win, these teams also want everyone out on the track so they can race each other.
Just like last years race at the track on top of the mountain, the fans and officials are top
notch, and always give a warm welcome, Its great to be able to leave the track with a smile
no matter where you finish.
