8/13/07 Batavia, NY
Race number 5 is getting ready to go into the books at Genesee
Speedway this Saturday night, 8-18-2007. Series point leader Chris
Leroux will be looking for his 3rd series win. Looking to gain some
points on the Money Management LTD # 32 will be Terry Povoski (4),
Jason White(35) and Jared Hill(93).
White in the #35 Water St Pharmacy Ford has overcome some huge
setbacks this season suffering mechanical failures at Thunder Mountain
and Canandaigua, but is not out the hunt yet for that elusive first Win in
a Pro Truck.
Mike Warren in the # 5 Finger Lakes HVAC will be piloting the H&W
backup truck, as the 5 is was fatally injured at BRS a few weeks ago.
He is hoping to still find a driver that may have a engine/transmission
wanting to compete in the final two races.
Going into this race, only 40 points separate the top 4, so it should be
interesting to see the strategies put into play with two races remaining.
The last race being a double points night. Anyone in the top 4 should
have a numerical chance of picking up the Championship depending
on the outcome of this race.
Jared Hill in the #93 has definetly come to life the last few weeks, and
with three wins in the class at Blackrock, will more than likely be a factor
in the final laps.
Doug Buckley in the #2 Teed Chassis Machine, has had some of the
hardest luck this season, Last years runner up in points has struggled
all season but is anticipating a good run at Genesee with a fresh
powerplant and a heavy right foot.
Genesee Speedway came under the management of Mike Lauterborn
earlier this year, And in many peoples eyes has come a long way in
turning things around at the speedway. The series as a group are proud
to be able to bring to western NY some action away from the norm.
