Leroux Claims 2nd Career feature win at the High Banks.
The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky and 11 Trucks rolled into
Woodhull Raceway for the first time. Heat races went in the books with
Terry Povoski taking heat 1 and Mike Warren posting his first
checkered of the season in Heat 2. Fans got a chance to see how
these trucks really fly, when on lap one, Bill Edminster (44) who started
in the third row, had a Throttle malfunction which sent him slicing
through the field in turn one and sailing through the air off turn two. The
44 sustained major damage, but the good news was Bill is OK and will
be back in contention this week after taking a couple of weeks to repair
his ride with help from some of his fellow competitors.
Jason White in the 35 looked to be the man to beat from then on out,
and it seemed to take a few laps for some of the drivers to get used to
the racing surface, but once they did. Leroux Kept working the bottom
line and was able to pull away to his second Career Victory, and also
his second this season. White held on for second, his best run this
season and what he hopes will be the end of a string of bad luck. Terry
Povoski, Jared Hill and Ralph Champion Jr rounded out the top 5.
This weekend Friday June 22, 2007 The Regional Pro Truck Series
Rolls into Granville PA at Redline Raceway Where Leroux has a few
laps experience and also drivers like Doug Buckley who has made
many laps there, might use that experience ( and some luck of a good
redraw) to his advantage to kickstart the second half of the season.
Several New teams have made it to the track, and Fridays race looks to
be the best turnout of the season for the series. As we head into the
second half of the season, the racing should be tight and fast. See you
all There!
